So The Pains of Being Pure At Heart have a new single called "Heart in your Heartbreak" which will be released December 14 along with "The One."The single is being released in preparation of the upcoming Pains' sophomore album Belong which will be released in March on Slumberland Records.
The song sounds pretty much like every other Pains track, but that's not a bad thing. There is a distinctive sound that cannot be dismissed, a ethereal beauty to their music that I haven't heard in a long time. You know a Pains' song when you hear it. It's actually quite refreshing in an age where everyone sounds the same. On a even better note, the quality of recording has definitely gotten better, which is to say they have more money backing the second album.
Part of me is wondering why I'm even sharing this, but I have no self control when it comes to The Pains of Being Pure At Heart. I love this band. Check out the new song on Pitchfork.
